Order of Earthsea Books
Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea Cycle stands as a cornerstone of young adult fantasy literature. Set in a vast archipelago where countless islands dot an endless ocean, this magical world revolves around the art of wizardry and the dedicated mages who practice it. These skilled practitioners receive their training on the mystical island of Roke before being dispatched to serve wherever their talents are required most.
What began as a trilogy launched in 1968 with A Wizard of Earthsea and reached its initial conclusion in 1973 with The Farthest Shore. However, Le Guin wasn't finished with her beloved archipelago. The series found new life with Tehanu: The Last Book of Earthsea—though despite its title, it certainly wasn't the final installment. The saga continued to evolve, with The Other Wind serving as the most recent novel when it appeared in 2001.
The television adaptation that aired on Sci-Fi Channel (now known as Syfy) in 2004 proved disappointing to the author herself. Below you'll find Le Guin's complete Earthsea novels arranged by their original publication dates:
