The Dakota Plains series by American novelist Lauraine Snelling presents Christian historical fiction set in the immigrant farming settlement of Soldahl, North Dakota, during the Turn of the Century. This compelling series chronicles the journeys of five women as they seek love, adventure, and meaning in their pioneer lives.

Snelling launched the Dakota Plains series in 1993 with Dakota Dream, though the chronological starting point of the series is actually Dakota Dawn, which appeared in 1997. Following a lengthy 15-year break, Snelling brought the series to its conclusion with the novella Dakota Destiny.
