Order of Chronicles Of Amber Books
Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber stands as a cornerstone of fantasy literature, weaving together novels and short stories set in a unique multiverse. At the heart of this universe lie two fundamental realities: the golden realm of Amber and the Courts of Chaos. Between these polar opposites stretch countless "shadows" β parallel dimensions including our own Earth β existing in the space created by the tension between order and chaos.
The series unfolds across two distinct story arcs. The Corwin Cycle launched the saga in 1970 with Nine Princes of Amber, following the adventures through five books until concluding with The Courts of Chaos in 1978. After a seven-year gap, Zelazny returned to his creation with the Merlin Cycle, beginning with Trumps of Doom in 1985 and wrapping up with Prince of Chaos in 1991. Beyond the main novels, Zelazny also crafted additional short stories within this rich fictional world.
Tragically, the author's death in 1995 left fans knowing that more adventures had been planned but would never come to fruition. The complete Chronicles of Amber bibliography follows both publication and chronological order:
