Order of Casca Books

The Order of Casca centers on Casca Rufio Longinus, a Roman legionnaire condemned to eternal wandering after piercing Christ's side with his spear. This curse forces him to live as an immortal soldier-for-hire until Christ's return, creating opportunities for encounters with legendary figures including Hitler, Attila the Hun, Blackbeard, Genghis Khan, Marco Polo, Robert E. Lee, William the Conqueror, George Washington, and Mohammed, among others.

American author Barry Sadler launched this military adventure series in 1979 with The Eternal Mercenary. While ghostwriters may have penned many entries, Sadler's final credited work was The Mongol in 1990. Paul Dengelegi then contributed two volumes before Tony Roberts took over the series, which continues today. Here are the Casca: The Eternal Mercenary books listed by publication date:

Important note: Barry Sadler authored the series through The Mongol, followed by Paul Dengelegi's two books (The Liberator & The Defiant). Tony Roberts has written most subsequent novels, with the exception of Immortal Dragon and The Outlaw by Michael B. Goodwin. However, both Goodwin titles were discovered to contain plagiarized content and have been permanently withdrawn from the series and all publication.
