Order of Capital Crimes Books
American novelist Margaret Truman created the Capital Crimes mystery series alongside Donald Bain, featuring an ensemble cast rather than a single main character. The books showcase several recurring figures throughout the series, including Mackensie Smith (a former criminal lawyer), Annabel Reed (who owns a gallery), and Max Pauling (an ex-CIA operative who became a pilot).
Launching in 1980 with Murder in the White House, the Capital Crimes series has continued beyond Margaret Truman's passing, with Donald Bain now carrying on the writing duties. The chronological publication list of Margaret Truman's Capital Crimes novels appears below in their original release order:
Note: Donald Bain authored Experiment in Murder, drawing from Margaret Truman's existing work.
