Order of Beijing Books
The Beijing series, also referred to as the China Thrillers, features crime fiction novels crafted by Scottish author Peter May. This compelling series follows the partnership between Margaret Campbell, a struggling American pathologist, and Li Yan, a Chinese detective. To authentically portray the world of his characters, May undertook multiple research journeys to China, where he collaborated with forensic pathologists and homicide investigators. His dedication to accurately depicting Chinese crime investigation earned him honorary membership in the Beijing Chapter of the Crime Writers' Association.
May launched his China Thrillers in 1999 with The Firemaker, developing the series across six books before bringing it to a close in 2004 with Chinese Whispers.
