Order of Avalon Books

The Avalon series comprises fantasy novels originally created by Marion Zimmer Bradley and continued with Diana L. Paxson. These books transport readers to the mystical island of Avalon, weaving together the legendary history of both this sacred place and Britain itself through the compelling perspectives of the women who shaped these tales.

Marion Zimmer Bradley launched the series in 1979 with The Mists of Avalon, her sole standalone work in the collection. This groundbreaking novel proved so popular it was later transformed into a TNT television mini-series. Bradley's final contribution to the series was Priestess of Avalon.
