Order of Alistair MacLean’s UNACO Books
Alistair MacLean's UNACO centers around a fictional United Nations agency conceived by bestselling author Alistair MacLean as part of his movie treatment concepts. These film outlines became the foundation for an exciting thriller series penned by talented writers including Alastair MacNeill, John Denis, and Hugh Miller. UNACO's mission was to "avert, neutralize, and/or apprehend individuals or groups engaged in international criminal activities."
The UNACO book series launched in 1980 with Hostage Tower, written by John Denis, and concluded eighteen years later in 1998 with Hugh Miller's Borrowed Time. It's important to note that while these novels bear MacLean's name, they were crafted by other authors working from his original concepts and notes rather than being written by MacLean himself. Here's the complete Alistair MacLean's UNACO series in publication order:
Notes: Alastair MacNeill co-authored Death Train, Night Watch, Red Alert, Time of the Assassins, Dead Halt, Code Breaker and Rendezvous. John Denis co-authored Hostage Train and Air Force One is Down. Hugh Miller co-authored Prime Target and Borrowed Time.
