Scottish author Josephine Tey created Inspector Alan Grant as the protagonist of her acclaimed mystery series. The Inspector Alan Grant series launched in 1929 with The Man in the Queue, originally published under Josephine Tey's Gordon Daviot pseudonym and later reissued under the Tey name. The series concluded in 1952 with The Singing Sands, spanning 23 years and six novels total. The books follow their publication chronology, making them easy to read in sequence.
