The Abilene western series, published under the pseudonym Justin Ladd, centers on the lives of Marshal Luke Travis, Deputy Cody Fisher, and the settlers who've made their home in Abilene, Kansas. This compelling saga of frontier life launched in 1988 with Peacemaker and ran for 16 books until its finale, The Deputy, in 1990.
