Order of Colin Dexter Books

Colin Dexter, the celebrated English crime fiction writer, created one of literature's most beloved detectives in Inspector Morse. His journey to becoming a published novelist began quite by chance during a rainy Saturday on a family vacation in North Wales. Finding himself with time to spare due to the weather, Dexter settled at his kitchen table and began crafting what would become his first detective story.

Prior to his literary career, Dexter worked in education as a teacher and later served as a secretary at Oxford. His breakthrough came in 1975 with the publication of "Last Bus to Woodstock," which introduced readers to Inspector Morse and launched what would become an iconic crime series.
