Order of Claire Askew Books

Claire Askew is a Scottish writer, poet, and educator who has made her mark in the literary world primarily through her DI Helen Birch crime series.

Her career in education spans several impactful roles, beginning with a five-year tenure in Further Education at Edinburgh College. She later transitioned to Scottish Book Trust, where she served as Adult Learning Project Co-Ordinator, focusing on literacy initiatives for both young people and adults facing reading challenges. In this capacity, she developed professional development training programs centered on literacy and reading best practices. Claire also took on the role of schools writer in residence, collaborating with students at Craigroyston High School to help them produce their own magazine.
