American novelist Christopher Newman has captivated readers through his acclaimed Lt. Joe Dante series. A San Francisco native, Newman spent his formative years in Silicon Valley before pursuing higher education at UC-Santa Cruz and later at Birmingham University in England.

Newman's adventurous spirit led him on extensive travels throughout Europe and Asia, including a stint working aboard a super-tanker in the Persian Gulf.
