Christine DeSmet brings a rich Midwestern background to her writing, having been born in Illinois and growing up on a Wisconsin farm before settling in Madison, Wisconsin. An accomplished author with expertise spanning both novels and screenwriting, she has earned recognition for her award-winning feature film scripts. DeSmet shares her passion for storytelling as an instructor of screenwriting and fiction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her collaborative screenwriting efforts have achieved notable success, including a victory at the prestigious Slamdance Film Festival contest with her writing partner.
