Montana captured Christine Carbo's heart when she arrived there as a twelve-year-old, igniting a deep appreciation for the state's stunning landscapes that would eventually fuel her literary career. This American novelist's path to writing took several fascinating detours through her early adulthood.

Her educational journey led her from Montana to college in Tacoma, Washington, then to Prescott, Arizona, where she pursued pilot training. However, Carbo discovered her true calling lay in Communication Arts, prompting her return to Tacoma to complete her degree at Pacific Lutheran University. Following graduation, she briefly worked as a Delta Airlines flight attendant before pursuing further studies in Missoula, Montana.

It was this return to Montana and her rediscovered connection to Glacier National Park that reignited Carbo's passion for writing. Her varied life experiences and profound love for Montana's wilderness have since shaped her into the accomplished novelist she is today.
