Order of Christian Jacq Books
Christian Jacq stands as one of France's most prolific writers of historical fiction and non-fiction, particularly renowned for his acclaimed Ramses series and his expertise as an Egyptologist. His fascination with ancient Egypt began at thirteen after reading Jacques Pirenne's History of Ancient Egyptian Civilization, a pivotal moment that sparked both his lifelong passion and his literary career. This early inspiration led him to pen his first novel and motivated his inaugural journey to Egypt at just seventeen years old.
Jacq pursued formal training in Egyptology and archaeology at the prestigious Sorbonne, demonstrating remarkable productivity by completing eight books before reaching eighteen. His professional writing career launched in 1984 with the publication of The Judgement of the Mummy, marking the beginning of what would become an extensive bibliography spanning multiple series and establishing him as a leading voice in Egyptian historical fiction.
