Chris Simms writes two popular mystery series: the Detective Spicer novels and the Sean Blake Mystery books. This English author's passion for storytelling began in childhood, sparked by evenings spent listening to his father read M.R. James ghost stories around a campfire in rural Sussex where he grew up. Though he remained an avid reader throughout his life, Simms didn't begin his writing career until after turning thirty. The inspiration for his debut novel struck during an unexpected moment—while stranded roadside with a broken-down car shortly after his thirtieth birthday.
