Order of Chris Offutt Books

Chris Offutt is an American novelist and television writer whose literary works include The Killing Hills, The Good Brother, and Country Dark.

Growing up in eastern Kentucky's Appalachian foothills in a former mining town, Offutt comes from a family with literary roots—his father was also a writer. He earned his college degree from Morehead State University, where he studied theater with an English minor. Beyond his career as a novelist, Offutt has made his mark in television, writing episodes for acclaimed series such as HBO's True Blood and Showtime's Weeds.
