Order of Chris Laing Books

Canadian writer Chris Laing has made his mark in detective fiction through his acclaimed Max Dester Mystery series. His debut novel, A Private Man, launched the series in 2012 and earned recognition as a finalist for the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime First Novel.

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Laing spent many years working in private business before transitioning to a career with the Federal Public Service. During his government service, he worked with the Department of the Secretary of State's Citizenship Branch and the National Museums of Canada. Today, Laing resides in Kingston, Ontario.
