Order of Charles Knief Books

Charles Knief is an American crime fiction writer best known for his John Caine mystery series. Drawing from a rich background as an airborne soldier, pilot, and engineer, Knief brings authentic experience to his storytelling. His extensive travels and years of living in Hawaii have provided him with the atmospheric settings that enliven his work. He currently resides in Irvine, California with his wife.

Knief burst onto the literary scene in 1996 with his debut novel Diamond Head, which earned him the prestigious SMP/PWA award for Best First Private Eye Novel. This strong debut launched what would become his signature John Caine series, establishing Knief as a notable voice in contemporary crime fiction.
