Writing under a pen name to protect the privacy of those involved in her deeply personal stories, Cathy Glass is a British writer who specializes in both non-fiction and fiction centered around foster care experiences. Beyond her books, she works as a freelance journalist, bringing her storytelling skills to various publications.

Drawing from her extraordinary 25-year journey as a foster parent, Cathy has opened her home to more than 100 children throughout her fostering career. She is also a mother to three children of her own, including one who joined her family through adoption. This wealth of real-world experience forms the foundation of her writing, particularly her non-fiction works, which make up the majority of her publications. To maintain confidentiality, she changes the names of the individuals featured in her true stories.

While non-fiction remains her primary focus, Cathy has expanded into fiction writing in recent years, exploring similar themes through imaginative narratives. Her literary career began in 2006 with the publication of her debut non-fiction work, Damaged. Four years later, in 2010, she ventured into fiction with her novel The Girl in the Mirror, marking her evolution as a versatile author who continues to shed light on the foster care system through multiple storytelling approaches.
