Order of Catherine Hernandez Books
Catherine Hernandez launched her literary career with Scarborough, a novel that first earned recognition by winning the Jim Wong-Chu Award while still in manuscript form. Upon publication, the book garnered widespread acclaim and appeared on numerous Best of 2017 reading lists. Hernandez has since adapted the work for the screen, penning the screenplay for its film adaptation.
Drawing from her rich multicultural background of Filipino, Spanish, Chinese and Indian ancestry, and as someone married into the Navajo Nation, Hernandez brings diverse perspectives to her writing. Beyond novels, she has established herself as a versatile creative voice through playwriting and producing, notably crafting the one-woman production The Femme Playlist. Her literary range extends to young readers as well, with works such as the children's book M is for Mustache: A Pride ABC Book.
