Cara Reinard is an American novelist who has made her mark in the domestic suspense genre with her thriller Sweet Water.

Growing up with her single mother in a small Pennsylvania town just north of Sewickley—one of the state's most affluent communities—Reinard found herself fascinated by a world that remained tantalizingly out of reach. Though her family couldn't afford to live in such an exclusive area, the wealthy enclave left a lasting impression on the young writer. Years later, this childhood memory would resurface in her fiction when a particular mansion in the area, once belonging to steel magnate B.F. Jones, served as inspiration for the house featured in Sweet Water.

Today, Reinard continues to call Pennsylvania home, where she lives with her husband and their two children.
