Candace Camp is an American romance novelist who crafts both historical and contemporary love stories. Writing under multiple pen names including Lisa Gregory and Kristin James, she has transported readers across various time periods and locations, though she holds a special fondness for England's Regency Era. Her passion for storytelling began early—she was just ten years old when she first started penning fiction.

Though Camp pursued legal studies at the University of North Carolina and initially practiced law, she ultimately chose to follow her literary calling and became a full-time writer. She makes her home in Austin, Texas, alongside her husband, and has passed on her creative talents to the next generation—her daughter Anastasia Hopcus has established herself as a young adult author.

Camp's publishing journey began under the pseudonym Lisa Gregory with her novel Bonds of Love. Two decades later, in 1991, she introduced readers to the Candace Camp name with the release of Rosewood, marking the start of a prolific career under her own identity.
