Order of Brit Bennett Books

American novelist Brit Bennett burst onto the literary scene with her debut novel The Mothers, which captured readers nationwide and claimed a spot on the New York Times Bestseller list. She solidified her reputation as a major voice in contemporary fiction with her 2020 follow-up, The Vanishing Half, which also became a New York Times Bestseller and earned recognition as a Good Morning America Book Club pick.

A Southern California native, Bennett pursued her education at Stanford University, where she completed her undergraduate degree before continuing north to the University of Michigan for her MFA in fiction. During her graduate studies, she distinguished herself by receiving both the Hopwood Award in Graduate Short Fiction and the 2014 Hurston/Wright Award for College Writers.
