Brian James Freeman appears to have been destined for a writing career from the start. He achieved his first short story sale at just fourteen years old, followed by selling his debut novel at twenty-four. Freeman's breakthrough came in 2010 with his short novella The Painted Darkness, which attracted 30,000 readers within its first three months.
As a devoted Stephen King enthusiast, Freeman has authored two trivia books about the master of horror. His involvement with King's work extends to writing articles, conducting interviews, and publishing the acclaimed author's works. Currently residing in Pennsylvania with his wife and children, Freeman balances his writing career with his role as general manager of Cemetery Dance Publications, publisher of Lonely Road Books, and founder of Books to Benefit.
