Brandon Q. Morris writes hard science fiction novels, drawing on his background as a physicist to craft scientifically grounded stories. Operating under this pen name, the author's true identity is Matthias Matting.

His extensive bibliography includes multiple acclaimed series: the Ice Moon saga, the Proxima series, the Solar System series, and the Big Rip series, among other works. Matting achieved early recognition by winning the derneuebuchpreis.de (dnbp), a prestigious honor that came with a 20,000 euro prize and enabled him to journey to Fukushima. His collaborative work continued to earn accolades when he and co-author Cliff Allister received the 2019 Skoutz Award for their novel Helium-3.
