Order of Blaize Clement Books

Blaize Clement (1932-2011) was an American mystery novelist who also penned romance fiction under the pseudonym Lee Silvey. She created the beloved Dixie Hemingway cozy mystery series, which her son John Clement continues today. Her educational background included studies at the University of Houston and Baylor University, where she trained to become a clinical psychologist before transitioning to writing.

A passionate advocate for animals, Clement often explored themes of animal intelligence and nobility in her work. Her literary hero was Rudyard Kipling, and she cherished reading "The Elephant's Child" to her children so much that she eventually recorded herself narrating it for her grandchildren to enjoy.

Clement launched her publishing career at 73 with "Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter" in 2005. She remained dedicated to her craft until the end, spending her final months battling cancer while working on "The Cat Sitter's Pajamas" and collaborating with her son John on "The Cat Sitter's Cradle."

Her bibliography includes the complete Dixie Hemingway mystery series, with "The Cat Sitter's Cradle" being co-authored by John Clement. As Lee Silvey, she wrote "Dance of the Moon Daughter," a romance novel set in 1545 that follows ship commander Jonas Graystone as he navigates India's forbidden seas and encounters a princess who transforms his life through action, adventure, and unexpected plot twists.
