Order of Beverly Jenkins Books

Beverly Jenkins crafts compelling historical and contemporary romance novels that center African-American characters, bringing to life overlooked time periods that traditional publishing often ignored. Early in her career, she faced significant challenges breaking into the market, as publishers typically only sought African-American historical fiction focused on slavery narratives. Among her notable works is the beloved Blessings series.

A Detroit native, Jenkins attended Cass Technical High School before pursuing studies in Journalism and English Literature at Michigan State University. She continues to make her home in Southeastern Michigan with her family.

Jenkins launched her publishing career in 1994 with her debut novel Night Song, marking the beginning of what would become an impressive literary journey.
