Benedict Jacka is an English fantasy novelist best known for his acclaimed Alex Verus series. His educational journey took him from the City of London School to Cambridge University, where he completed his Bachelor's degree. Following his studies, Jacka embarked on diverse adventures that took him to China, where he gained experience across multiple professions including civil service, working as a bouncer, and teaching. Eventually, he made his way back to London to pursue legal studies.

Jacka launched his writing career in 2005 with the publication of To Be a Ninja, which was subsequently republished under the title The Beginning. His varied life experiences have undoubtedly enriched the depth and authenticity he brings to his fantasy storytelling.
