Swedish author Jan Arnald writes under the pseudonym Arne Dahl, crafting compelling Scandinavian crime fiction that has captivated readers worldwide. His acclaimed Intercrime series has gained significant recognition, with the first five novels successfully adapted for television and broadcast on Sweden's SVT1 and the UK's BBC Four.

Beyond his fiction writing, Arnald brings literary expertise to his role as a critic for Sweden's prominent newspaper Dagens Nyheter, adding depth to his understanding of the literary landscape.

Arnald's publishing journey began in 1990 with his Swedish debut Chiosmassakern under his own name. He later adopted the Arne Dahl persona in 1998 with Ont blod, which English-speaking audiences would eventually discover as Bad Blood in 2013. However, it was Misterioso that first introduced Dahl to English readers in 2010, despite being originally published in Swedish in 1999. This same novel later appeared in the UK market as The Blinded Man in 2012, showcasing the international appeal of his gripping crime narratives.
