Anthony Riches is a British author who has gained recognition for his Empire series of historical novels. In 2021, he expanded into a new genre with the publication of Nemesis, marking his entry into crime thrillers.

His fascination with warfare and military history traces back to childhood, sparked by his father's World War II tales. This early interest led him to pursue Military Studies at Manchester University, where he completed his degree. A pivotal moment came in 1996 during a trip to Housesteads, which inspired him to pen his debut novel, Wounds of Honour. Riches currently resides in Hertfordshire alongside his wife and their three children.
