Order of Anne Griffin Books
Anne Griffin's journey to becoming a published novelist took an unconventional path, with her debut novel When All Is Said arriving in 2019 after years of diverse professional experience. The book found homes with Sceptre for UK and Irish readers, while Thomas Dunne Books brought it to audiences across the US and Canada.
Born in Dublin in 1969, Griffin earned her BA in History from UCD before embarking on an eight-year career with Waterstone's Booksellers, working in both Dublin and London. Her commitment to social causes led her to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Community and Youth Work at Maynooth University, after which she dedicated herself to charitable organizations including Women's Aid, Youth Work Ireland, and the Dyslexia Association of Ireland.
Griffin's literary career began in earnest in 2013 when she enrolled in a Creative Writing course at UCD. Her talent quickly gained recognition through prestigious awards and competitions: she won the John McGahern Award for Literature and earned shortlistings for the Hennessy New Irish Writing Awards, the Sunday Business Post Short Story Award for 'Some Tiny Clue', and the Benedict Kiely Competition with 'Mr. Henry'. These accolades, along with multiple published short stories, paved the way for her successful transition to novel writing.
