Order of Ann Rule Books

Ann Rule was an American true crime author who built her career documenting the stories of serial killers across the United States. Her writing journey began with contributions to women-targeted publications like True Detective magazine, where she published work under the pen name Andy Stack.

Rule's breakthrough came in 1980 with the publication of The Stranger Beside Me, her compelling account of Ted Bundy. This launch established her as a prominent voice in true crime literature. Throughout her career, she covered nearly every major American serial killer case, establishing herself as a definitive chronicler of criminal psychology and behavior.

While true crime remained her specialty, Rule also explored fiction writing with her psychological suspense novel Possession, demonstrating her versatility as a storyteller.

Her early works Lust Killer, The Want-Ad Killer, and The I-5 Killer were all published under her pseudonym Andy Stack, before she gained recognition writing under her real name.
