Order of Ann Patchett Books
Ann Patchett crafts compelling literary fiction from her home base in Nashville, Tennessee, where she has remained since childhood despite being born in Los Angeles. Her literary education was exceptional—she studied writing at Sarah Lawrence College under the guidance of distinguished authors Allan Gurganus, Russell Banks, and Grace Paley, then continued her training at the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Before establishing herself as a novelist, Patchett spent nearly a decade at Seventeen magazine, primarily producing non-fiction pieces, though few of her contributions ultimately made it to print. Writing runs in her family—she is the daughter of novelist Jeanne Ray.
