Order of Andre Aciman Books
Andre Aciman writes both literary fiction and non-fiction, drawing from a rich multicultural background that spans continents. Born to a family of Turkish and Italian Jewish heritage, he spent his childhood in Egypt before political tensions between Egypt and Israel forced his family into exile. Their journey took them first to Rome, then eventually to the United States, where Aciman would build his literary career.
Aciman pursued his passion for literature academically, graduating from Lehman College with a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature, then continuing at Harvard University where he earned both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. He lives with his wife Susan, and they are parents to three sons.
His literary journey began in 1994 with the publication of his memoir Out of Egypt, a non-fiction work that marked his entrance into the publishing world. More than a decade later, Aciman released his breakout novel Call Me by Your Name in 2007, which would become his most celebrated work.
