Order of Ali Smith Books
Scottish writer Ali Smith has established herself as a remarkable voice in contemporary literature, working across fiction, playwriting, and journalism. Her novel The Accidental earned her the 2005 Whitbread Novel of the Year, while Girl Meets Boys became the Diva magazine readers' choice Book of the Year. She achieved further acclaim with How to Be Both, which secured both the 2014 Goldsmiths Prize and the Novel Award at the 2014 Costa Book Awards.
Born and raised in Inverness, Smith pursued her academic studies at the University of Aberdeen, where she completed a joint degree in English language and literature. She continued her education at Newnham College, Cambridge, working toward a PhD in American and Irish modernism. It was during her doctoral studies that she discovered her passion for playwriting, which ultimately led her to dedicate herself fully to her writing career.
