Alex Gilvarry stands as a prominent voice in contemporary American literature. After completing his MFA in Creative Writing at CUNY – Hunter College in 2009, Gilvarry quickly established himself in the literary world. His talent earned him recognition as one of the National Book Foundation's distinguished "5 Under 35" honorees in 2014. Currently, he shares his expertise as a Creative Writing professor at Monmouth University in New Jersey.

Gilvarry launched his publishing career in 2012 with his debut novel From the Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant, followed by Eastman Was Here in 2017. He resides on Staten Island alongside his wife, Alexandra Kleeman, who is also an accomplished writer.
