Order of Alan Russell Books
Alan Russell is an American crime fiction and mystery novelist who brings a unique perspective to his writing through his diverse background. Originally a basketball player at UC San Diego, Russell joined the team as a freshman but was forced to leave due to a back injury. This setback led him to journalism, where he wrote for the student newspaper and eventually rose to editor-in-chief. Under his leadership, the publication gained independence and became The Guardian.
Following graduation, Russell entered the hospitality industry while pursuing his writing ambitions on the side. He contributed articles to various newspapers and magazines while developing his novels, drawing extensively on his hospitality experience to create authentic settings for his fiction. Beyond his published novels, Russell has also worked as a ghostwriter for non-fiction titles.
Russell's debut novel, No Sign of Murder, was published in 1990, launching his career as a novelist. After releasing No Cats, No Chocolate, he took an eight-year break from publishing before returning in 2012 with Burning Man.
