Order of Adrian Goldsworthy Books

British historian Adrian Goldsworthy has established himself as a prominent voice in Ancient Roman scholarship, crafting both scholarly non-fiction and historical novels that bring the classical world to life. After completing his studies in Ancient and Modern History at St. John's College, Oxford, where he earned his D.Phil., Goldsworthy pursued an academic career that took him from Cardiff University as a Junior Research Fellow to part-time teaching at King's College London, and eventually to a six-year position as assistant professor with the University of Notre Dame's London programme.

Goldsworthy launched his writing career in 1996 with the publication of his non-fiction work The Roman Army At War, marking the beginning of what would become an impressive body of historical scholarship. His transition into fiction came over a decade later with the 2008 novel True Soldier Gentlemen, demonstrating his versatility in bringing historical narratives to different audiences.

When not immersed in the world of ancient history, Goldsworthy enjoys the quintessentially British pastime of watching cricket, along with walking and tennis. He makes his home in South Wales, where he continues to write and research the fascinating complexities of Roman civilization.
