Order of Aaron Elkins Books

Aaron Elkins brings a unique scientific perspective to the mystery genre as an American novelist who transitioned from anthropology to writing fiction. Drawing on his academic background, Elkins created the compelling character of forensic anthropologist Gideon Oliver, who serves as the protagonist of his most celebrated series. Beyond the Oliver books, he has penned mysteries featuring a museum curator and collaborates with his wife Charlotte on golf-themed mysteries starring Lee Ofsted.

Elkins came to novel writing later in life, beginning his literary career at age 44 in 1978. His debut effort took four years to reach readers, finally being published in 1982 as Fellowship of Fear, which launched the beloved Gideon Oliver series that would define much of his writing career.
